3 Years At Bukit Jalil Sports School - Erika Vallensia Ak Andrew

Good morning to my English Teacher, Mr. Jarod Yong, and all my beloved classmates. Today, I am going to share my 3-year experience at Bukit Jalil Sports School from Form 1 until Form 3.

When I get an offer from Bukit Jalil Sports School, I was very happy because the chance to be selected for Bukit Jalil Sports School is not easy. I took part in badminton, so I can show my skills.

During my first week at the Bukit Jalil Sports School, I felt uncomfortable with the situation. I needed to wake up at 5:00 am in the morning because the training session started at 6:00 am. After the first training session in the morning, I needed to rush myself back to the school dormitory for some breakfast and a shower because class would start at 9:30 am in the morning. I felt very tired because I did not have enough rest.

Classes finished at 2:30 pm and my training sessions would start at 3:00 pm in the afternoon. It was very difficult for me because I needed to rush again to take the bus. At night, I had to go to class for night classes with my teacher. By this time, I was really not energetic anymore because I was too tired from the whole day of activities.

As day by day went by, I felt more comfortable with this situation because it became my daily routine. I went to Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia to represent Malaysia in the national badminton team. The main reason why I transferred back to my hometown was because I was criticized by my coach, so I gave up and my badminton performance became worse.

This is the story of my life at Bukit Jalil Sports School for 3 years. Thank you.

Erika Vallensia Andrew is a hardworking, friendly, helpful, and also funny student who is the second child of four siblings. She listens to music while doing homework and goes swimming at the aquatic center on weekends. Once a month, she drinks bubble tea, although bubble tea is not good for health. In every badminton tournament, she has a good fighting spirit, even when losing, and she always respects her opponents too.

For the upcoming school holiday, I have decided to take on a part time-job while waiting for my SPM result. I choose to be a baker and I want to work at Taka's bakery shop that is not far from my neighborhood. Very few people want to be bakers and have a part time-job there because they love eating, not baking. Another reason why I choose this job is I love baking. Since the job is not a struggle, I can learn more about baking during my shifts which are 9 to 10 hours each. For me, baking truly keeps me fulfilled, free, and energized. As the bakery is near my home, getting there will not take an hour or have traffic congestion problems. Being next to Farley Mall, some customers stop by the cake shop after they have finished shopping at the mall.
