Kapit: My Hometown, My Heaven - Siti Nordiana Binti Mohammad Syafiq

I come from Kapit and live in a long house at Nanga Serian, Balleh. I made many great childhood memories there. Many of the villagers are Christian but they are so nice to me even though my religion is different. The best experiences I have are learning how to make Iban rice, hunting and making traditional tapestry.

During the MCO, my grandpa and I always hunted to make some money. The weapons we used to kill the animals were a gun and an Iban traditional weapon called Sangkoh. The best things is I learned so many tips on how to survive in the forest if I get lost.

My hometown also has a fresh water river. In the morning, we always bathe and wash our clothes at the river. The water is so refreshing, when it touches our bodies, we feels like we have a new body. My villagers go fishing for Keli fish, water snails, and Sulai fish.

In the countryside, we have a lot free time and we do beneficial things such as playing Batu Seremban, kick volleyball and Ting-Ting game. Living there can make me stronger and more independent. People work together and look out for one another, creating a greater sense of community.

Lastly, I really enjoy living there because I can get away from negative things and toxic people. I can do everything I love without regret. Hopefully, I can spend my whole life living there.

Siti Nordiana Binti Mohammad Syafiq came all the way from Kapit but was born in Johor Baharu on 16 June 2004. Her sport is netball, and her hobby is playing football during the weekends. She is an Iban and a Muslim who wants to be an excellent student, athlete and daughter.

    Nice to read your essay. Yes, life in the countryside is always full of fun and adventure. You can't get this kind of joy in the cities. So cherish the beautiful countryside that you're in now and continue writing to improve your English

Every one of us needs to move on. As the saying goes, “life must go on.” Some of us even have suicidal thoughts, but there must be one thing that keep us from doing it. Hi guys, I'm Hii. I come from Sibu, but now I'm studying at SMK Tabuan Jaya. A Part-Time Job I Want - Audrea Flennysha Jackie

For the upcoming school holiday, I have decided to take on a part time-job while waiting for my SPM result. I choose to be a baker and I want to work at Taka's bakery shop that is not far from my neighborhood. Very few people want to be bakers and have a part time-job there because they love eating, not baking. Another reason why I choose this job is I love baking. Since the job is not a struggle, I can learn more about baking during my shifts which are 9 to 10 hours each. For me, baking truly keeps me fulfilled, free, and energized. As the bakery is near my home, getting there will not take an hour or have traffic congestion problems. Being next to Farley Mall, some customers stop by the cake shop after they have finished shopping at the mall.
