Helping My Family During The Pandemic - Izzy Delancy

Hello everyone, my name is Izzy Delancy. I am a Form 2 student in the 2 Sea 1 class. I live in Kampung Daun Singai, Bau, Sarawak.

During the MCO, I went to my family's farm to harvest pepper. My family also grows bananas, durians, mangoes, and more. We spent time at the farm from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., which was 6 hours, every Saturday and Sunday, because on those days I did not have online classes. I am very happy to be able to help my family on beneficial things.

Next, I also helped my mother to do housework such as tidying up the house, cooking, and more. This pandemic taught me how to be independent and I feel proud that I can handle everything I thought was difficult. I hope everyone abides by the SOP and are always protected.

For the upcoming school holiday, I have decided to take on a part time-job while waiting for my SPM result. I choose to be a baker and I want to work at Taka's bakery shop that is not far from my neighborhood. Very few people want to be bakers and have a part time-job there because they love eating, not baking. Another reason why I choose this job is I love baking. Since the job is not a struggle, I can learn more about baking during my shifts which are 9 to 10 hours each. For me, baking truly keeps me fulfilled, free, and energized.
